2010 Tour of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
On June 5th, 2010, a group of experienced sea kayakers braved a questionable weather forecast to enjoy what turned out to be a spectacular day of kayaking along the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
The threat of rain couldn’t stop these paddlers from launching at Gary IN’s Marquette Park and finishing tired but satisfied at Michigan City. Along the way the kayakers made stops at the Portage Lakefront Park, the Indiana Dunes State Park Beach, and Beverly Shores.
Many access sites, challenging paddling, and beautiful scenery make the Lake Michigan shore line along the National Park Service’s Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore a premier paddling destination.
