Saturday, September 18th

Test your paddling skills against your fellow paddlers in this 8-mile kayak race on Lake Michigan, from Michigan City to Lang Beach and back.

Or join the 6.7 mile up Trail Creek and back on a course designed for both canoes and kayaks.

New for 2010 is a Kid’s exhibition race for Age Groups: 8-10; 11-13; & 14-16 , NWIPA will provide kayaks so sign up early to reserve a place! (Parents are required to sign a waiver.) See the Flyer for details.

The Ride the Wave Regatta has classes for both Experienced & Novice Paddlers Alike

Schedule of Events:

10:00 am (cst), 8 mile Sea Kayak race on Lake Michigan

12:00 pm, new for this year, a 1/3 mile exhibition Sea Kayak Race for Kids in the Washington Park Marina Harbor - NWIPA will provide the kayaks to all participants in the kids races (see flyer for details)

1:00 pm, 6.7 mile Canoe & Kayak Races on Trail Creek (including recreational classes!)

Medals for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place in all classes Race

Starting Location: Washington Park Marina Boat Ramp, Michigan City, IN

Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed to assist with all of the races (esp. the kids race) - Please contact Dan Plath at dplath@nwipa.org if you would like to help make the event a continued success Registration: Pre-registration is preferred, but race day registration is also OK (please check in at least 30 minutes prior to your race) Official Race Flyer:
